This is what you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy A21s
The Galaxy A21s is an interesting budget smartphone and one of the cheapest smartphones that Samsung will release in 2020. The device succeeds the popular Galaxy A20e and has a nice large screen, huge battery and no fewer than five cameras. With a suggested retail price of 209 euros, you get a lot of value for money.
Big screen and huge battery
The Samsung Galaxy A21s has a large screen of 6.5 inches, making the device suitable for watching movies and series. Unfortunately, the resolution with 1600 by 720 pixels is on the low side, so images look less sharp. Devices like the Motorola Moto G8 Power and Samsung's own Galaxy M21 have a better full-HD screen.

The lower resolution is favorable for the battery life, because it must be excellent on the Galaxy A21s. The device has a huge 5000 mAh battery, which can easily last a full day. Charging is done via the USB-C port and the A21s supports fast charging. Despite the supplied 15 Watt fast charger, this is still quite slow because the battery is so large.
Under the hood of the Galaxy A21s is an octacore processor with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage, depending on which version you choose. Also present is bluetooth 5.0 and a fingerprint scanner on the back to unlock the phone. The screen is front-filling, with a small hole in the top left corner for the selfie camera.
Four cameras on the back
One of the most important features of the Galaxy A21s is the camera setup on the back. The smartphone has a total of five cameras: four on the back, one on the front. On the back is a primary camera of 48 megapixels, which combines pixels to take better pictures. Also present is an 8 megapixel wide-angle lens for wide shots, which is useful for landscape photography, for example.
You can also get started with the 2 megapixel macro camera, with which you can take photos from very close. This is nice if you want to capture a flower or insect up close, for example. A 2 megapixel depth sensor, which helps to shoot portrait photos with a bokeh effect, completes the picture. You can take selfies with the 13-megapixel camera on the front.
Android 10 and updates
The Samsung Galaxy A21s runs on Android 10 with the company's OneUI software on top. The skin makes it easier to operate the phone with one hand and adds, for example, a dark mode.
Samsung is fine with updates and gives the affordable Galaxy A21s a quarterly security patch. In addition, Galaxy A phones (such as the A21s) usually receive two major Android updates, which would mean that the device will be updated to Android 11 and 12 anyway . For a smartphone in this price range, this is very neat.
